Building Consent Granted: Village Green Project Breaks New Ground

The Greater New Brighton Charitable Trust is delighted to announce that the Village Green Project is one step closer to becoming a reality as we have officially been granted building consent.

This milestone is a testament to the hard work, collaboration, and shared vision of our team, our community and stakeholders. With both resource consent and now building consent secured, we are keen to begin transforming the site into a vibrant, inclusive space for all.

The approved plans feature sustainable landscaping, accessible pathways, multipurpose recreational and entertainment areas, and community gathering spaces —all designed with input from local residents and tailored to meet the needs of our growing community.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Christchurch City Council for their cooperation and support in helping us navigate the consent process efficiently and positively.
